Wings: Dallas fell to the Washington Mystics 96-92 on the road Wednesday. Jessica Shepard (22 points, 11 rebounds) and Alanna Smith (21 points, 11 rebounds) both put up double-doubles, but a 12-point fourth quarter sank the Wings in a game they let slip away late.
Bueckers and the Wings' Offense vs. the League's Top Defense
Paige Bueckers and Arike Ogunbowale lead a Dallas offense that can score in bursts, but they'll run into a Valkyries defense that ranks first in the WNBA in defensive rating. The Wings have gone a shaky 3-4 over their last seven games, while Golden State has won four straight matchups against Dallas — and four of the last five meetings overall. If the Valkyries' defense holds up on the road, they'll be well-positioned to extend that streak.
