Are the 49ers the Best Team in the NFL? 49ers Beat Commanders 23-17 to Go 6-0 | We Want Winners
In this episode of We Want Winners, Rod Adams and Garrett Gonzales recap a 23-17 Monday Night Football win over the Washington Commanders that pushed San Francisco to 6-0.
San Francisco jumped out to a 20-3 halftime lead behind a George Kittle touchdown catch and two short Christian McCaffrey rushing scores, then held on as Washington clawed back in the second half. Malik Mustapha's fourth-down pass breakup and a late sack sealed the win. Brock Purdy also took over the NFL's all-time career passer rating lead.
Since the team wasn't able to go live right after the game, Rod and Garrett also cover what's come out since: Mike Evans left in the second quarter with an Achilles injury that's since been described as banged up but not torn, meaning he'll miss time but avoided the worst-case outcome. They close with a look ahead to next week's game against the Falcons.
They also look at the NFL and wonder if the 49ers really are the best team in the NFL.

10 [SPEAKER_00]: All right, it's time for we want winners. [SPEAKER_00]: If you're watching on video as you can tell, I'm still in Valkyrie's mode, even though they lost, yesterday while Brian and I were in attendance. [SPEAKER_00]: That was not a good game. [SPEAKER_00]: That's just about as bad as they can play though. [SPEAKER_00]: They're playing against a really good basketball team. [SPEAKER_00]: But we're not here at Talk Valks. [SPEAKER_00]: We're here to talk 49ers, we're here with Rod. [SPEAKER_00]: Because I was at the Valkyrie's game, [SPEAKER_00]: One of my kids was with me at the Valkyrie's game and the other kid was with his friends at the forty-and-eighters game, so at least my family was represented in both spots.
51 [SPEAKER_00]: So this weekend, they play Atlanta and we'll talk about the Atlanta game early. [SPEAKER_00]: I can go live after I'm my Sunday stuff that has been tripping me up is not there for a little bit. [SPEAKER_00]: If you do want to go after that after that Niners Falcon's game, I can go immediately. [SPEAKER_00]: So just something for you to think about. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, let's talk about this commander's game. [SPEAKER_00]: I was I was getting updates obviously on my phone. [SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, oh, this nine is going to win this game 30 to 10 or something.
31 [SPEAKER_00]: And then as the Valkyries game is over, I'm walking to my car and I'm just like, wait, the commanders are coming back here. [SPEAKER_00]: And then I'm seeing Jaden Daniels on the comeback and, you know, 15 seconds left and then I saw grounding and I was like, okay, well, [SPEAKER_00]: I think I think we're good and then they sack him. [SPEAKER_00]: I think on the very next play, but it was one of those games where I think for a half, you're like, man, this is the best team in the league. [SPEAKER_00]: And then the second half of the game, you're like, man, this team is one or two injuries away from having some rough times.
12 [SPEAKER_00]: But how did you see the game as you were watching and the half, the split half's there? [SPEAKER_01]: Well, to me, it was, it's kind of like, you know, I watch a lot of football. [SPEAKER_01]: And in this league, unless a team is just really awful, you can always expect it to be. [SPEAKER_01]: It's going to end up right around a one score game. [SPEAKER_01]: And when they got there, it didn't shock me. [SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, it was like, okay, now the nine is we really have to, um, [SPEAKER_01]: So what you got go ahead and impose this thing out and they did they, you know, made the plays they needed to make To do to do to do what they needed to do and [SPEAKER_01]: Other than that, I mean, there was some really impressive things that they were able to accomplish.
07 [SPEAKER_01]: Prior to kind of letting down and I want to, you know, I don't want to take any credit away from Washington and by saying like the 49ers. [SPEAKER_01]: you know, whatever, because they do, you know, Washington did what they needed to do, but ultimately they were able to close it out. [SPEAKER_01]: But it was a, it was a good game, I thought. [SPEAKER_00]: I watched it this morning. [SPEAKER_00]: I actually I watched half of it last night. [SPEAKER_00]: And I watched the rest of this morning. [SPEAKER_00]: And I guess my major takeaways were, they, I almost sense [SPEAKER_00]: that Shanahan went into a little bit of like a a mode of we have a big enough lead that we're going to save some stuff for the future, especially after Evans went out.
05 [SPEAKER_00]: I think that kind of put a hold on a lot of the things that they could have done offensively for one because now you're down to you're like fourth and fifth receiver, fourth and fifth and sixth receivers. [SPEAKER_00]: And so from that standpoint, [SPEAKER_00]: You're not going to, you know, you're not going to put Brock into these positions of, you know, maybe not trusting some of these guys and then if you're Washington, you go, okay, I need to key on CMC, I need to key on George Kittle and work good and that's looks like that's what happened in that second half is. [SPEAKER_00]: Brock was looking for those guys. [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes had to tuck the ball a couple of times.
47 [SPEAKER_00]: There was a drop pass and then there was the penalties. [SPEAKER_00]: And when you have the penalties, it was almost like the penalties were a little bit of an equalizer in the second half. [SPEAKER_00]: In the first half, that was Washington's problem is that every time they'd make a good play it'd get called back because of a penalty. [SPEAKER_00]: And then in the second half for the Niners as they're trying to put the game at a touch, [SPEAKER_00]: They get a first down and then it gets called back or you know they're just getting pushed back and it's it's you know it's second and 12 instead of second and five or second and seven and you know when you have a little bit of a messy game like that. [SPEAKER_00]: then it plays into Washington's favor, had Jin Daniels had another five minutes, they probably take the lead in that game, but thankfully the Niners defense stepped up there at the end.
35 [SPEAKER_00]: What did you think of Daniels' performance overall? [SPEAKER_01]: up and down, he's clearly a great athlete and the run is, you know, a big part of his game. [SPEAKER_01]: It always has been, I'm an LSU fan, so I'm pretty familiar with him, but he missed, you know, it's kind of like, [SPEAKER_01]: You know, most rookie or young quarterbacks is he can make the spectacular play, but then he'll miss layups and him also, I mean, the foot the we talk about our why receiver core once McLaren went down, I mean, it's a grab bag over there for them in terms of receiver and then digs got banged up relatively.
30 [SPEAKER_01]: quickly. [SPEAKER_01]: Is that saying? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Dicks. [SPEAKER_00]: Dicks. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: I think he had like something happened with his hand and he came back and he any scored a touchdown, but you could tell he was healthy. [SPEAKER_00]: And I have him on two of my fantasy team. [SPEAKER_00]: So I know he wasn't healthy. [SPEAKER_00]: He was questionable whole week. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So it was, um, [SPEAKER_01]: And then I know he's missed a bunch of time. [SPEAKER_01]: And then he had, he missed several games already this season. [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, it was an up and down performance. [SPEAKER_01]: Not, I don't think he is anywhere, you know, he's still got a lot of growing to do.
11 [SPEAKER_01]: And he's nowhere near. [SPEAKER_01]: I think even his healthy is, but he played okay. [SPEAKER_01]: And then, you know, wasn't able to bring it home at the end. [SPEAKER_01]: Suspane. [SPEAKER_00]: It seems and the four nanders got four sacks without Bosa. [SPEAKER_00]: So that's that's a little something. [SPEAKER_00]: And you know it was interesting. [SPEAKER_00]: I want to stay on Daniels just a little bit because I have some I have a commander's friend who I think he liked the fact that and if you are a commander's fan [SPEAKER_00]: you have to believe that he is the truth because if you believe he is the truth then you're thinking that no matter what we can improve from where we are.
55 [SPEAKER_00]: But I watched and I thought [SPEAKER_00]: He has to be able to play good football from the beginning as well. [SPEAKER_00]: It can't only be when there's no pressure and when you're down 20 and then you can and the team's kind of sitting, you know, allowing you to do stuff and they're not, you know, and the defensive backs might be playing a little off. [SPEAKER_00]: Like he's got to be able to from jump street, be able to score and play, [SPEAKER_00]: You know, we always talked about Brock in this way of like he's just a gay manager in that sense, but I think Brock is a much better playmaker today than he was even two years ago.
42 [SPEAKER_00]: But Mick Jaden needs to, he needs to set the tone and if they can't set the tone, they get behind because their defense is also not good. [SPEAKER_00]: And where he picks up a lot of his yardage is when he's playing from behind, which is, you know, it's, it's, it's great because you don't, you never feel like the game is out of reach when you have him because he's such a dynamic playmaker, but he's also got to play in front a little bit better. [SPEAKER_00]: I think for them to have a better chance at winning some of these games and that just comes from repetitions like two years ago, we thought he was going to be. [SPEAKER_00]: you know the the next the second coming of you know whomever your your favorite dynamic quarterback is, and he took a step back last year because of injuries.
25 [SPEAKER_00]: I know he got hurt this year too, but I just thought when I when I turned on the game last night, I thought he would be a little bit maybe more mature. [SPEAKER_00]: in the pocket, but then you go back to last week where he makes that mistake at the end of the game, you go to this game, he throws a fourth down play in the back of the end zone. [SPEAKER_00]: Nobody on his team has a chance. [SPEAKER_00]: He throws that grounding play right before the end of the game. [SPEAKER_00]: So there were moments there where you're like, okay, like that's, you know, that maybe that's, he just needs more reps with his offense. [SPEAKER_00]: Whatever it is, the decision making piece of that, these last couple of games have not been there for him.
07 [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: And like you say, it call it reps or just time on task, but yeah, he has definitely struggled the last several weeks. [SPEAKER_01]: in that way. [SPEAKER_01]: I've got him on a couple of teams. [SPEAKER_00]: I play in a super flex league and I've drafted him three years in a row just because you can play two cubies. [SPEAKER_00]: And I love I love watching him. [SPEAKER_00]: I love having him on my fantasy teams. [SPEAKER_00]: But I can imagine if you're a commander's fan, you probably know the, you know, maybe the negatives about his play style, [SPEAKER_00]: So let's talk a little bit about what the 49ers did well.
52 [SPEAKER_00]: They got up to lead 20 to three at halftime. [SPEAKER_00]: Kiddle touchdown catch McCaffrey, a couple of rushing touchdowns in that game. [SPEAKER_00]: I thought Brock. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm trying to remember if Brock made a bad throw, there was one early in the game, re-threat over the middle, and there were DBs there, but he threw it so far out of reach that I don't think that Washington had much of a chance to get it. [SPEAKER_00]: Neither did the Affordable and Energy [SPEAKER_00]: kept talking about the layers throws yesterday and watching Brock drop it right over the stretched out hand of the of the db and then into Mike Evans or whomever.
39 [SPEAKER_00]: He's making those those strong throws and I kind of wonder [SPEAKER_00]: we didn't see that same, we didn't see it throughout the entire Seattle game. [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously because the past rush was much better for Seattle. [SPEAKER_00]: But man, if you give Brock a little bit of time, that dude seemingly finds his guys and it's not like the 49ers have these track stars running past defensive backs. [SPEAKER_00]: It's [SPEAKER_00]: You know, really smart route running by Mike Evans, utilizing George Kittle, utilizing Christian McAfrey, utilizing Jews because outside of Mike Evans, who from the wide receiver perspective is even catching passes like Debo a little bit, but it's like he's thrown to three guys essentially and if you're, you know, we'll have a Minnesota matchup come up in in a little while.
35 [SPEAKER_00]: Like if you're Minnesota, [SPEAKER_00]: you know where he's going with that football and you can also bring a pass rush that that to me is kind of like the biggest game right now on on the schedule as far as can Brock play well against that kind of defense and defense coordinator. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, if there is, if there is, there's only one criticism really a block this season and it is just that it's his performance against a blitz has not been great. [SPEAKER_01]: And there's one thing that we can be assured of, it's when they play Minnesota, Brian for us, he does not care.
15 [SPEAKER_01]: He will blitz on every down. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I've rarely seen in the NFL somebody go zero coverage as much as he does where he just he'll just bring the house and it doesn't down distance it doesn't matter and so that is that hour. [SPEAKER_01]: offense against their defense is going to be one of the most interesting matchups of the season. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because you talk about the why receivers is just after [SPEAKER_01]: after Evans it is it's it's it's pretty rough.
58 [SPEAKER_01]: We just right now, you know, we just don't have the the horses but apparently so yeah, Catherine had 10 targets kiddo had a, you know, Mike only have five, but he was I think it was was second quarter when he went out. [SPEAKER_01]: And then nobody else has more than two usage I had to. [SPEAKER_01]: And then you got one for cook, one for blockings, and then black I won. [SPEAKER_01]: So the past distribution is not ideal. [SPEAKER_01]: The target distribution is not ideal, but hopefully we'll start getting some of these guys back.
42 [SPEAKER_01]: And also hopefully the injury [SPEAKER_01]: is not something that's going to, I see in that Achilles though, it's just kind of, it's kind of scary. [SPEAKER_01]: They're calling it tendonitis, but that's not something that I've ever seen like heel. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's something that he's going to be dealing with, um, [SPEAKER_01]: pretty much the rest of the season. [SPEAKER_01]: And I love Shannon has his definition of it. [SPEAKER_01]: It backed it up too much. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure what that means. [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, they saved, he's dealt with it before.
25 [SPEAKER_01]: But it's, you know, the way that the room is currently structured. [SPEAKER_01]: they really can't afford to have him miss a whole lot and not compensated with guys like Robinson and per seeing like their closest to coming back because I I saw somewhere where Debo was like three to four weeks. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, way. [SPEAKER_00]: So poor stripping is still in a walking boot and crutches. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I remember when they said after his surgery, they were looking at December at the earliest. [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, he's still a ways away. [SPEAKER_01]: And then that's the thing about that for Rookie Rye with Steve were coming in at that time with the season.
13 [SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be, you know, I hope he's able to come and contribute, but this is shaping up kind of like a law season for him. [SPEAKER_00]: So we'll we'll circle back on the defense because because we do have to talk about the defense the defense kind of set the tone there when the offense wasn't doing well, but let's fast forward to the Atlantic game because my Kevin's is probably out. [SPEAKER_00]: You're lining up, Brandon Cook's Jordan Walk is Jacob Cowling as you're three receivers in that, and neither of them, I would imagine maybe like less than five catches for all those dudes like so they don't have a lot of chemistry with a Brock right now.
15 [SPEAKER_00]: Kirk obviously has zero chemistry with Brock, but at least he's somebody who the defense will pay attention to. [SPEAKER_00]: So they could be without they're going to be without Evans more than likely. [SPEAKER_00]: They may be without both, so even though Bosa said, this is the game that he wanted to come back for. [SPEAKER_00]: But now you're six and oh, and you're on a short week in your kind of playing with [SPEAKER_00]: this this has all the makings of what folks would consider a trap game against the falcons you played Monday night and you have to play early on Sunday then it felt so cruel when they schedule stuff like that.
57 [SPEAKER_00]: And [SPEAKER_00]: year, you know, I guess Luke Gifford also got hurt, um, hit a growing issue. [SPEAKER_00]: Um, I haven't up is up in South as well. [SPEAKER_00]: Uh, so, you know, this is one of those games where it's going to be the walking wounded and how much [SPEAKER_00]: Do you really, really, really try and win this game? [SPEAKER_00]: Can you might be able to just win it? [SPEAKER_00]: Cause it's not like the Falcons are a good team. [SPEAKER_00]: They're two and four. [SPEAKER_00]: Panics is playing better. [SPEAKER_00]: And obviously they have weapons with B. John. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm a man, they're Drake London. [SPEAKER_00]: There's, they actually do have some weapons there that could hurt the 49ers.
41 [SPEAKER_00]: And they haven't hurt the 49ers in the past. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, Bijon could kind of take over this game if it happened that way. [SPEAKER_00]: And I would not be surprised. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, I think Shanahan, you know, and obviously, and he's got a bunch of vets who are gamers, that they're not just gonna lay down, but this could be one of those games where it's like, man, the Falcons coming out of nowhere and playing even with the Niners, this could be an interesting one this weekend. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'm sure not that he's a professional, and I'm not that he doesn't get up where he came, but I don't imagine Rahim Morris is interested in making a good showing with his defense.
25 [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_01]: Going back there, but when you look at this game, projecting into the next game, we say a stout was hurt, but he wasn't very good before he got hurt, [SPEAKER_01]: Green struggled yesterday. [SPEAKER_01]: Ashton Davis also wasn't very good. [SPEAKER_00]: Stop that was great that that poor dude you remember when Mike Evans last week. [SPEAKER_00]: when he turned around was my my man's name on Seattle to look at the back of his jersey right up I was like Who's Davis is not Eric Davis that was 30 years ago He can't be Eric Davis and I was like Ashton Davis.
14 [SPEAKER_00]: Wow never heard of this man in my life. [SPEAKER_00]: I guess he probably played in the in the preseason where I wasn't paying attention to closely, but [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that was interesting. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, man, this guy's all over the field. [SPEAKER_00]: That's seen more ash than Davis in that second half than I saw, you know, some of their starters. [SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, it's going to be interesting, you know, it's the injuries are starting to to pile up. [SPEAKER_01]: And our secondary is it looks like as we go along, [SPEAKER_01]: That's going to be, if we're going to have an issue on defense, because it seems like Morris is doing a good job of manufacturing and pressure and just getting good past rush out of the defense of Wyoming.
05 [SPEAKER_01]: They have every week, it's like a rotation of guys that [SPEAKER_01]: are doing really well. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so it's going to be interesting to see how we are able to hold up on a short week versus what can be a high-powered offense. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, you know, B. John is never a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a- [SPEAKER_01]: It would be that. [SPEAKER_01]: I could say that scheduling is just brutal, you know, to go from Monday night to early Sunday morning for, um, for us, you know, I think I think.
51 [SPEAKER_00]: I think if you're a player on that team, I think it is very human to look through Atlanta, thinking that you can beat Atlanta, look forward to the buy and then look through the Raiders like you're like the next three weeks should be cake, except that [SPEAKER_00]: Again, I think when you have the playmakers that Atlanta has, they could be in the game unless the 49ers turned them over and, you know, the 49ers haven't really turned too many teams over this year.
31 [SPEAKER_00]: But they did, you know, and we can go back to the game plan. [SPEAKER_00]: They got four sacks and, you know, Daniels is he's fast. [SPEAKER_00]: They kept they bottled him up. [SPEAKER_00]: I think he only had 10 yards [SPEAKER_01]: Keon White, Michael Williams had one, a lot of pressures, man, 27, I mean, 29 pressures, five stacks, seven quarter back hits, and 17 heresy. [SPEAKER_01]: So, the task rush was very good, five different players got a sack. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, Hawking got one of why you said, hi.
12 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, dude. [SPEAKER_01]: Cause it was a, yeah, so yeah, it was, um, it was a very good game from that standpoint, especially against, um, a mobile quarterback. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, so that was, that was great. [SPEAKER_01]: And conversely, we only allow six, which is great. [SPEAKER_01]: Six pressures, no sex. [SPEAKER_00]: The, there, there was some hard hitting on that defense, too. [SPEAKER_00]: Dugger got, he was all over the field. [SPEAKER_00]: Mustafa was all over the field. [SPEAKER_00]: The Fred got away with a couple hits with his helmet, I was like, wait a second.
55 [SPEAKER_00]: Is he like, is he being Jray in this game? [SPEAKER_00]: Like he's like really like tearing it up here and Jray, we wouldn't mention Jray should be back this week. [SPEAKER_00]: So he's off suspension. [SPEAKER_00]: So he'll be back for the Atlanta game. [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, you know, the defense really kind of it was a little bit of a bend don't break there in the second half, but they made big plays when they needed to on third and fourth down stops, you know, the one thing though. [SPEAKER_00]: This is something that we didn't have to think about too much last year after Eddie Piniero joined the team. [SPEAKER_00]: This man is missing so many extra points.
35 [SPEAKER_00]: He missed another one in this game and had Washington scored the touchdown at the end and kicked the extra point. [SPEAKER_00]: That game is on eddy because he's one who miss the extra points. [SPEAKER_00]: So he's pretty pretty lucky that that the nine or defense stopped him and saved him a little bit there. [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, like all of a sudden now we're just like, oh, do we got to think about kicker again what's going on and as we say that Jake Jake moody got signed by the Ravens I think to their practice quarter something. [SPEAKER_01]: For all any fact checkers out there, we had eight pressures, and I've never seen this before, that's what threw me off is, there were two sacks, because I thought there were, but no offensive linemen got credit for giving up the sack.
19 [SPEAKER_01]: So I guess they credit, PFF credit them to Brock. [SPEAKER_01]: So that I was looking at the offensive linestack and then I was, it said no sacks and I was a winner in it, and then I double checked and yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: None of the offensive linemen got granted for the stack, which I've never seen before. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the one, there's one that I'm thinking of where Brock kind of sacked himself because he kept pumping and running and faking and turning and then he did like a little pirouette right and just, oh yeah, that one you ran into. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that probably wasn't an offensive line. [SPEAKER_01]: That was, that was definitely is.
00 [SPEAKER_00]: So where are like we've seen many great starts and 40 netters history, six and O in beating, already Seattle and the ramies in their technically away. [SPEAKER_00]: That is really a really stout way to start the season. [SPEAKER_00]: Now you do have your commanders type of teams that you have beat as well, your cardinals, those type of teams, and the dolphins. [SPEAKER_00]: But still you have those games. [SPEAKER_00]: And then when you play Seattle and the Rams again, they are coming to Santa Clara.
43 [SPEAKER_00]: So those are, it's a really good place to be. [SPEAKER_00]: And I just wonder, [SPEAKER_00]: how high are your expectations for this team? [SPEAKER_00]: Cause you and I said a little bit more realistic than most 49er fans as it comes. [SPEAKER_00]: This is just because we have so many years of watching this franchise as so many highs, by the way, and this is not to say that the highs have been there, but we're a little bit more realistic than folks. [SPEAKER_00]: Do you look at this team as the best team in football right now? [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's hard to argue against it, but what kind of what you said, and I'm just going to add on to it, I am the type of fan at this point after, you know, 40 years of being here doing this, that I'm always waiting for the other shooter drop because it's going so good now, I just hope that it can continue in that.
44 [SPEAKER_01]: you know, these injuries kind of balanced himself out, and that it's not, you know, because, you know, no personal, personal is out for the season. [SPEAKER_01]: But really, we're expecting just about anybody, everybody else to be back at some point, which both well, and actually you could make the case [SPEAKER_01]: If you get somebody like Kirk back and I just saw that I looked at up the Marcus Robinson Kyle said he doesn't think he'll be that he'll be available for Atlanta and Debo won but there's that Kirk had two good practices last week.
31 [SPEAKER_01]: So they are expecting him back. [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah [SPEAKER_01]: Right now, it's them in Minnesota, you know, the two, you know, it's easy, that's easy to say because they're both undefeated. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, but yeah, we looked up and it's they are right now the class of the NFC. [SPEAKER_01]: I just, there's just a part of me that said, you know, you don't win anything for being the best team in a league in October. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's, there's a lot of football left to be played, but right now, I'd rather be here than, I'd rather, I'd rather be us than the Rams, but you know, so yeah, I, I think that, um, [SPEAKER_01]: this is going about as well as it could have gone and you know if you want to talk about due to the last time we started 6 and 0 what was 2019 so we ended up in a Super Bowl.
32 [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah I mean that's um it's good stuff it's good stuff and they are actually finding [SPEAKER_01]: The last three draft classes, which is something that we haven't been able to say in a long time. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, so that it's all going well, and I'm cautiously optimistic about, you know, where we are now. [SPEAKER_01]: And hopefully we can handle our business and head into the by seven. [SPEAKER_00]: So I want to shout out my guy.
14 [SPEAKER_00]: My guy Rwano here, who just had a birthday shout out to Brian. [SPEAKER_00]: Poor Brian had a birthday and we were all supposed to go to hang out with him first birthday and he got sick. [SPEAKER_00]: And he had to cancel the whole family kind of got a little bit of a little bit of the flu bug. [SPEAKER_00]: So once he's back out there, we're supposed to hang out next weekend. [SPEAKER_00]: So I'll get to see him but shout out Brian. [SPEAKER_00]: I kind of wish, maybe you go after the Raiders, and then you have the buy because you could probably get through both of these teams in that way, but yeah, it's a good time for the buy.
57 [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so, you know, you and I, we're going to get out of here shortly. [SPEAKER_00]: We're not, we're working to do a long, long show today, but I did want to look at the teams. [SPEAKER_00]: So [SPEAKER_00]: The bills are 5 and 1. [SPEAKER_00]: These are two completely different teams because the chiefs are giving up 83 points and 5 weeks and the bills are giving up 171 points and 5 weeks. [SPEAKER_00]: So the bills are, they're high rollers. [SPEAKER_00]: They're scored a lot of points. [SPEAKER_00]: They're giving up a lot of points. [SPEAKER_00]: the Jaguars actually are are way more balanced, but I don't know the Jaguars sometimes I lose these close games.
37 [SPEAKER_00]: The 4 and 2 Cleveland Browns with with a minus 16 point differential. [SPEAKER_01]: But you don't want to be close and you don't want to, you don't want to give the show on Watson of the wall on the final drive because he's been winning those games, but yeah, but actually that the weird thing about it is there, it's their offense that's the problem because 128 points allowed is their defense is not that bad.
18 [SPEAKER_00]: Pats, Pats look like they've kind of figured things out after a slow start. [SPEAKER_00]: Broncos 4 and 2 Steelers 4 and 2 Ravens 4 and 2 as well. [SPEAKER_00]: So there's a lot of teams in the AFC who are 4 and 2 and better. [SPEAKER_00]: And in the NFC, there aren't as many though. [SPEAKER_00]: I wanted to point out obviously the Vikings have [SPEAKER_00]: The Niners are 177.4 110 points against, they lead the league in point differential and the Vikings are 109 points and 64 points against. [SPEAKER_00]: The Panthers.
00 [SPEAKER_00]: are three and two. [SPEAKER_00]: The giants are three two and one. [SPEAKER_00]: The packers are four and two. [SPEAKER_00]: And the team that I think is actually legit, especially with Caleb are the bears. [SPEAKER_00]: They are four and two. [SPEAKER_00]: Their numbers are a lot more similar to the Niners as far as points and points against and such. [SPEAKER_00]: And so, obviously, the Seahawks, they are going to be [SPEAKER_00]: there in the end you just got to think that they're going to figure things out. [SPEAKER_00]: And I still think the Rams could figure things out as well. [SPEAKER_00]: So, so, you know, the Niners are in in very good company right now. [SPEAKER_00]: You just got to keep winning the games that are in front of you and beating the teams you're supposed to be.
40 [SPEAKER_00]: And compete against these other teams, but now all of a sudden, it's like that Minnesota game is kind of like the big game that you want to circle for for right now, I'm really interested in how the Niners match up because it's like, you, you're, you know, we play the the Rams and the Seahawks two times every year. [SPEAKER_00]: So we kind of know those teams extremely well. [SPEAKER_00]: The Vikings, you know, we don't see them all the time. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, we see them once a year, maybe once every couple years. [SPEAKER_00]: But we go falcons by Raiders.
21 [SPEAKER_00]: Raiders are not good. [SPEAKER_00]: Cowboys. [SPEAKER_00]: Cowboys can't stop anybody. [SPEAKER_00]: And then Vikings seahawks back to back so that might be the scariest scenario you could get to closer to Christmas You have the chiefs and the Eagles back to back, but with Jalen out for the season I'm not sure if the Eagles are going to be really heard from but you lose your starting quarterback like that And that's crazy by the way blood clots story How do you let how do you let that do play how do you let that do travel? [SPEAKER_00]: with that. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I got it so scary. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So scary.
01 [SPEAKER_01]: If you're talking about, I mean, that's, you know, just literally is life and death. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, absolutely. [SPEAKER_00]: You've, we've heard of people who have died because of blood clots and being on an airplane and like, how scary that is. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: So what do you want to do? [SPEAKER_00]: Do you want to go right after the Falcons game on Sunday? [SPEAKER_00]: Let's do it. [SPEAKER_00]: The game will be over, about one Pacific will go 20, 30, 40 minutes after that. [SPEAKER_00]: We'll all set this, I'll set up the stream to, so people will know when we're going live. [SPEAKER_00]: And we'll be back on this Sunday schedule. [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to be happier to record kind of right after the game's over when we got the takes that are hot.
46 [SPEAKER_00]: Instead, I get to think about them and it probably sounded a little bit smarter, but they're not a fiery right at right after the game. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, that is it from here, shout out to, I didn't expect anybody to really be in the comments, but shout out to Shelvin and my guy, Brian Rwano, check out his, he's got this little side hustle business that's actually pretty cool, called stadium approved. [SPEAKER_00]: So he goes to the earthquake's games, [SPEAKER_00]: And he's got like you know how like when you have to go to games now you like nine or games like you have to have like a see through bag Like you can't actually bring a physical purse into the game and so he sells like [SPEAKER_00]: see through bags for people who forget them or whatever.
36 [SPEAKER_00]: And then he's also selling like little decals and little water bottles and stuff for folks too. [SPEAKER_00]: So I love a side hustle. [SPEAKER_00]: Good on you, baby. [SPEAKER_00]: All right. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: That is it from here. [SPEAKER_00]: For Rod, I am WG. [SPEAKER_00]: We will see you when we see you piece out.
