Mercury: Phoenix heads into tonight off a 86-82 win over the Los Angeles Sparks on July 22, their second straight victory after a six-game losing streak. Alyssa Thomas recorded her 20th career triple-double (19 points, 15 assists, 11 rebounds), with Monique Akoa Makani (14) and Natasha Mack (10) also in double figures.

All-Star Break Is Over — Williams and Copper Return as All-Stars

Both teams bring fresh All-Star buzz into tonight's second half opener. Gabby Williams made her first career All-Star start at the 2026 AT&T All-Star Game, scoring 18 points on four 3-pointers with six assists, five rebounds and zero turnovers in the win for Team Coop. On the other side, Phoenix's Kahleah Copper was named an All-Star replacement for the injured Kelsey Plum and enters tonight ranked ninth in the WNBA in scoring at 20.5 points per game — the Mercury's top offensive threat and the biggest challenge for a Valkyries defense that leads the league in points allowed.
